Default Dizzy install

does it matter which notch on the dizzy goes into the cam? the notches / teeth/ gears or whatever you want to call them could go in 2 ways , just spin the rotor and line up the grooves into the cam or is there 1 way and thats it?

Yes there is one way that is the right way and the other way which will be 180 degrees out.

It should be tough to put the distributor in when you're 180 degrees out. BUT I have seen it done at the dealership. Some kid did it to his car and had us inspect it before anything. Not realizing he was able to JAM the distributor on 180 degrees out.. when we started the car up it snapped the cam.
