you can run those cams but while your in there installing them i belive the gsr's have dual valve springs on just the intake side where si's have the duals on the exhaust side you may wanna get a set of si inners so you have dual on both the exhaust and intake other then that you should be good to go

I just installed these on my friends gsr. We used gsr dual on the intake and exhaust.

Let me say, yes you can, is it 100% safe? no. Is it worth spending an extra $100 for ITR intake valve springs? yes.

If it were me, I would put ITR intake springs and use the GSR intake dual valve springs on the exhaust side because GSR Intake is the same as the ITR exhaust valve springs.

the p72 is designed for the dual runner gsr manifold. if you have moved to a single runner design like you should have with ctr cams the p73 usdm ecu is a drop in for similar years. p73-a02 is 96-97, p73-a03 is 98-99 and a04 is 00-01

You can use CTR cams on stock GSR valvetrain, but you should NOT raise the redline until you change to the ITR valvesprings. The common practice is to buy ITR intake valvesprings (inner and outer) and install them on the intake side, and then to take the GSR valvesprings and move them to the exhaust side. Then you can start playing with vtec crossover and redline during tuning and be safe.

yea i know you can use the inners and let me let you in on alittle secret they are all the same part number all the inners use the same part number for si gsr and type r and the the outters are all the same also si gsr and itr exhaust same for the intakes and the retainers are all the same. found that out when i worked at the dealer. kinda funny how people think the type r valve springs are soimething special when they arent lol it the same **** as the si and gsr part numbers just like the rods and crank are the same as a gsr rods and crank just like the injectors in a type r are the same as si and gsr injectors the only thing that make a type r different is the top end the pistons and ecu. thats it. even the oil pump is the same as a gsr. lol i just think its funny people still fall for the its type r b/s lol

Let me let you in on a little secret: They are NOT ALL THE SAME PART NUMBERS. ITR Intake Valve Springs are NOT the same as GSR or Si Intake valve springs. Please don't give wrong information.

ITR Intake Inner 14751-P73-J02
ITR Intake Outer 14761-P73-J02

GSR Intake Inner 14751-P72-003
GSR Intake Outer 14761-P72-003

Si Intake Inner 14751-P30-003
Si Intake Outer 14761-P30-003

Also here is a link to my thread I started last week to see if my friend could run ITR cams on GSR valve springs. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2400643

Here is a reply from Master of the Universe:

Some people get lucky and some don't.

ITR springs have about 0.9mm more travel to bind than GSR springs. I know coz I've measured dem on dis macheen

Here are some specs

But there is a right way and a wrong way, and i hate to break it to you people still cheap out and do things the wrong way. I doubt that you have any idea how to use the macheen in the pic. Try to learn where you can there are alot of smart people on here

Hate to break it to you. It doesn't matter what other people do. The fact is, you are wrong and posted wrong information. If you want to be one of those people, then you are more then welcome to do so.

The way I see it, spending $100 extra to know you have the "RIGHT" setup is a lot better than wondering if you're going to drop a valve at 8200RPM.
