Default Crazy what a difference weight makes

So I just brought home a 2001 GSR a couple weeks ago (stock except intake, and short shifter). A couple of buddies and I decided to do some highway pulls. A buddy of mine just picked up a DA with a LS swap, intake, exhaust, and striped it down. We went to weigh our cars tonight mine tiped the scaled at 2660 (no passengers), and his at 2120 (again no passengers). We went out on to the interstate, and no matter what gear we started in, he would walk by me each time. I was impressed, and I guess I never really realized what a difference weight makes in a vehicle.

yes weight does make a big difference
but damn if his DA only weighed that much it must have been striped to nothing

Yeah he has interior striped down to only dash, driver, and passenger seat, no heather core, blower, etc, etc.

Well... after closer inspection this evening, he does have the stock b18a... I don't understand why it's as quick as it is. My buddy has an LS swapped hatch (weighs 1960), and the DA (weighs 2160) walks away from him in third gear. You can tell they are geared differently, it's pretty crazy. Did b18a's come with a closer ratio gear box then the b18b. BTW... the DA readlines at like 6750-6800 as oppoosed to the LS's 7200 or so.

I thought both B18A ('92 to '93) and the B18B have the same redline of 6800 rpm.
