I have them and they sound great.. I didnt really feel much of a difference in low end, although high end seemed to pick up... I think i have the mig welded ones.. the cheaper of the two...

The more expensive one looks a bit better cause the welds are smoother... smoother welds on the inside might mean more exhaust flow, not much but better than none...

If you want, i can record some sound from the header... I was gonna do it anyway

i dont like comptech headers only because of the condition mine are in after I put them on and the power they provided was negligible. meaning nothing noticed at all.
if ur gonna get a good deal on them and u just want to stay with the basic bolt ons of I/H/E then by all means get it.
if u want to spend more money with better performance go with ITR JDM 4-1
with hi flow cat. go to http://www.import-specialists.com since they have a great header package avail.

Rumor has it that the JDM header is the best bang for the buck.

You can get 'em for about $450 new if you look around. The extra expense comes in the need for a new cat.

I have the comptech header. It is alright.
I bought it for 300 bucks.

I figured for the extra 300 bucks I could get other stuff too.

The JDM header is good stuff. Alot of people are happy with it.

the other neat thing about the jdm is that you can have heat shields on your header if you are worried about having your engine bay get too hot.

If i were to do it again, i would just save and get the JDM header.

But, the comptech does add low end and more high end power. Before after 7k it didnt pull that hard. now the power does not tapper off. it pulls all the way till 8.5k

Even better than the JDM 4-1 is the DC JDM 4-1.

At any rate, for those that are insterested in headers in the least, you should really read the thread in my sig, and this one: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=76815

Please help everyone out

Ive had the comptech header for a while and Ive been happy with it. The only thing I dont like is the looks, the flange rusted and its not the cleanest looking header, but Im not really into that anyway, so it doesnt bother me.

It sounds terrific, and I felt a bit of a gain...nothing huge. You can really hear VTEC kick in with the comptech. TIG welding is a more meticulous welding process.

ALL USDM aftermarket 4-2-1 headers are worthless!!! I dynoed my car before/after the Comptech header and they only made like 1-2 whp in the midrange and about 4.5 on top. I still have not dynoed with my new headers, but it feels stronger all the way.

You can get 1-2 whp switching to Mobil 1 Sythetic oil, and it's much cheaper than a header...now that's an easy mod

Dayam! All this talk about the JDM header is making me want one! I'm a damn lemming! Oh well, no money = no JDM header! I'll stick with my Comptech header.
