compression test question
is there a way to test compression in a cylinder with the engine out of the car? i have a compression tester, will i get an accurate reading by cranking the engine over by hand a few times or will i lose pressure to fast?
i dont think so....never heard of doing a compression test with the motor out...i just did mine...ran 190 across with a b20b4 bottem end...low comp setup

You wil not be able to do the compression check however you could do a leak down test. Which in all reality would accomplish the same thing. Kind of a static compression test.....

Technically yes, but you can still observe cylinder variability when it is cold. OP, have you considered connecting the starter and "jumping" it?
