Default cold start idle.

When i start my car in the mornings the idle will rise to 1600-1700 and start making a weird buzzing noise. A normal startup idle i think is at 1500 and at that point it sounds normal. Can anyone shed some light as to why my car does this? tia.

I don't have abs either, I don't have the buzz though. Is it normal to cold idle at 2000 rpm? My car does for about 5 minutes then goes down.

Your sig says you have a turbo, correct?? I'd assume that it is some turbo component. You might want to check some stuff. I haven't really dealt with turbos, so I don't have anything specific to suggest. Good Luck.

Your idle should drop after 2~3 minutes to 750~800 rpm. But then again, I live in SoCal, so I have no idea what effect the weather would have on the idle.

Anyways, I was told that idle should drop after 2~3 min max to 750rpm or so from the dealership.

An initial 1600-1700 cold idle should be normal. After a minute or two, it should begin dropping. The buzzing is probably just a component rubbing or something. Or maybe you might wanna look over your Drag inline fuel pump which is usually kinda loud.
