Default Clutch problems?

Hey guys. Today on the way to the bank, I noticed that whenever I give the car a lot of gas, say to keep up with traffic or coming from a start, the car would shake a little bit and the car won't go any faster. But what I don't get is, the rpms don't go up at all. I called a mechanic I know and he says it could be a brake caliper hanging up on something. Could too much oil in the engine cause this? It is a little over the full line. I'm dropping it off tomorrow with him. Any ideas though guys?

not if its only a little bit.

It doesnt make sense that the rpms dont go up...
that would rule out the possibility of the clutch slipping.

That's really weird..

Yeah, I can't seem to figure out what it is. Hopefully I can make it to his shop.
