Soon Ill be getting either a gsr or b16 long block from a reliable and trustworthy friend of mine for my DA9. What should I replace as for maintenance on the engine, say if the motor was past due on maintenance from the previous owner. This is the list of things I would change, anyone else please chime in for more info. TIA!

-Compression/leak down test
-Oil change
-Change spark plugs
-Change spark plug wires
-Change oil pump
-Change water pump
-Change timing belt
-Valve adjustment
-Change transmission fluid?

Anything else I am missing out?

 

rotor, distributor cap.

 

cam seal
vtec solenoid gasket
valve cover and plug hole gaskets
valve seals if your leakdown numbers come back bad

 

You normally flush the coolant when you replace the water pump.

If your cooling system hoses aren't that new, I would replace them at this time. All of them. Good preventive maint.

Don't forget the PCV.
And clean out the IACV.

 

IACV is pita to get into my first time cleaning it.

 

Your thermostat could be changed while you're at it.

Maybe the headgasket and seals.
