Default Cigarette lighter fuse keeps blowing...

Just started yesterday, but it is happening when I put my phone charger in. I have gone through three fuses. Thanks for your help.

Will it work your cig lighter? Maybe it is your cell phone charger...test the actually lighter first. Good luck!

Most cell phone chargers have their own fuse in the adapter part. Maybe it is too high of a fuse.

You're pulling more power than the lighter was meant to provide, or you have a short.

I blew 3 fuses (not at once) trying to use an air pump plugged into the lighter socket. I knew it wasn't the pump, as it worked fine plugged into 4 other cars.

Unlike some cars, it actually is a cig lighter and not a full "accessory" outlet in our Integras. It isn't meant to power high draw devices.

If you want an accessory outlet, add one inside the glovebox, wired directly to the battery with an appropriately sized fuse.

Go figure...they did give it to me for free. The cigarette lighter piece does not want to stay in when I push it so I don't know if that means anything in itself. The radar detector worked fine though...as soon as the charger went back in...there went the fuse again.

The charger does work in my parents' car though...

Thanks for all your help.
