anyone know the correct way of checking the speedo? my ITR cluster's speedo is not working. no codes, I heard you can manually push the needle to around 100mph and it should slowly wind back to 0 mph to see if the needle is sticking. anyone else know if there is a better way of checking?
make sure everything is hooked up correctly in the back of the cluster. also check the VSS vehicle speed sensor on the tranny to make sure its still working.

Exactly, the cables in the back of the cluster are probably okay. I would try checking the VSS and making sure it's in good, working condition.

OK, I checked for power and ground on the VSS already. how do you go about checking the signal and checking the VSS itself? anyway to manually check that its giving a pulse?

thhis can be a little tricky because u cant use an ohm meter to get a signal from the vss while the car is stationary, i would borrow a friends VSS that u know works or possibly put the front end up and jacks and check for a signal. you should also trace the wiring. good luck.

OK, I also heard you can maybe take the VSS out and manually spinning it to see if the speedo will move?
thanks for the help guys
