I have a 98 integra gsr. My check engine light has been blinking on and off while im driving. Anybody know what this means?

 

Pull the codes. Look at the FAQ thread for instructions.

 

It means you need to "check your engine"

 

if you check engine light is bliking, you shouldn't drive it. A blinking CEL indicates a type A misfire which can cause severe damage to the catalytic converter and even the engine. You got something serious going on.

 

does it come on for a while, then go off for a while? or is it blinking? if it is a chipped ecu, i don't know if it has a (KAM) keep alive memory. if its factory, you should still be able to pull a code that is in the memory. that is if it isn't ON at that particular time.

I have an 89 Integra LS and a check engine light problem. When I turn the key to start, the check engine light rapidly flashes at a constant speed and doesnt stop. The car seems like it wants to turn over, but it wont. The light on the ECU also rapidly flashes. Can anyone help? Thanks!

 

check your battery, it sounds like its dead.

 

I just had a friend of mine yesterday jump my car because I noticed that the battery was a little weak. Do you think that the battery is completely dead, whereas I need to get a new one? Could there be any other reasons the ECU and check engine light is doing this?
