Default check engine light prbmz

i have a prbm with my check engine light... i was told it only deals with emissions... and so i changed my cat, got 2.5 in. piping from the cat to the exhaust, and changed the exhaust back to stock... i can drive for awhile, bout 1/3 a mile.. then the light goes on and my rev meter is restricted to about 3300-3400 RPM... what could be the cause of this? any possible problem suggestions is greatly appreciated

Try and reset it. There should be a button underneath your dash that you push and hold and also try to un-do your negative terminal on your battery for about 15 minutes and put it back on

You can go to Autozone and they can check and see what the check engine light is telling you for free.

to check it you just get to your ecu and look at the blinking light and count the sequences short blinks are 1s and long blinks are 10s
