I finally got my new ls motor in my car Monday hasn't been a week yet I have babyd the he'll out of it and today my check engine light comes on?? My oil levels good and I here no knocking/tapping thank god and I drove it a good bit after with the light on and still no tapping...what could it be??

 

Plug a scanner in and get the code for us. If its a good scanner it will even tell you what the code means.

Throwing a CEL could mean a lot of things. If your car is OBD2, take it to Autozone or another auto parts store and see if they can run the code for you and tell you what it is. Otherwise, follow the link posted above.

 

obd2 is the same thing. I used it for my obd2 gsr before.
