Default Check Engine light?

Last week I put a cat back exhaust system on my 96' RS. Today, my check engine light came on. Can the two be related. If not, what could it be? Thanks for your input.

Or you could get a wire or even a paperclip and under your glove box there is a conecter. You just put one end of the wire in one side and the other end in the other side. Free and you don't have to leave your house.
