Default are ceramic headers lighter???

are ceramic headers lighter than stainless steel headers? i know that the dc ceramics are alot lighter than the oem exhaust manifold...thanks

I'm not sure, but I would assume that ceramic headers would be heavier since they're basically a stainless steel header with an extra ceramic coating.

Most aftermarket headers are lighter than stock. The ceramic part is just a coating.

I had DC Ceramic Coated Headers and they weighed about 1/3 of the stock cast iron manifold, maybe even a bit less, the stock one is heavy as ****. I dropped it by accident once and it made a big crack in the floor of my garage. I would guess the SS are heavier because they are completely steel, the ceramic coating just covers mild steel, I THINK. The ceramic is probably lighter too because CC headers sometimes tend to crack in certain places, causing leaks, which means the tubing probably isn't as thick as SS, or as durable.

my DC is stainless at the top and CC on the bottom. the stainless part sure feels a bit more dense
