my light came on one time when i was trying to destroy my d16z6 in my civic. i hadn't changed the oil for like 9500 miles and i think it ran out. i was driving down the highway off my rev limiter in second for a few minutes and it turned on, but i didn't care because i had the swap already in the garage. this was somewhat of an experiment of how strong honda drivetrains are and i give them a .
i would swap the ecu with a known good ecu and see if it comes on.

Try resetting your ECU. The CEL should go away. Then when it comes back on, try jumping it and it should throw you a code.
