Default CEL 9

okay, i already searched and couldn't find what i was looking for. to make a long story short, my brother used my car (1991 LS) today and now the check engine light is on and it's throwing a code 9 misfire in number one cylinder. i threw on a different set of plug wires i have and that didn't help, i also pulled the spark plug out and it is fine, no discoloration or anything. what else should i look into to fix this? and as if that wasn't bad enough, the god damn wind slammed my hood shut on the rachet that was in the spark plug hole and put a nice *** dent in my motherlovin hood. i hate bad days.............

i replaced my cap, rotor, plugs and wires about 8 months ago. my prop rod bent a long time ago so i took out the stops so that my hood opens all the way back. i work at Discovery Ford/Honda here in moses lake and was talking to the main honda tech there and he said to look at the EGR valve since it only misses below 3500 rpm and only after the engine has warmed up

well, turns out everyone was wrong. i pulled the dist. cap off and there were strands of wiring in it. so i cleaned the cap out and scraped off the terminals inside the cap since some of the strands of wire appearently got picked up by the rotor and melted to the terminals. cleaned it all out, put the cap back on, and now it runs perfect. now i just gotta figure out how to turn off the CEL
