Car wont start, fuel issue
My 1997 Integra is deciding to not start up on me for some reason. I am getting spark and compression because when I crank it and spray in Pyrol starting fluid it will start for a second then immediately die. I believe the problem is the main relay assembly, and I ordered one from my Acura dealership. It should be in on the 4th, but if that does not fix it what else will? I am getting fuel to the fuel feed hose and when I take off the return line fuel shoots out the FPR. Could it be my injectors themselves?

Re: Car wont start, fuel issue
I just installed it, and the fuel pump did not turn on. I took the fuel return line off and nothing came out. That is weird because it was coming out earlier.

I found this, but it does not say where the "PGM-FI Main Relay, ECM" fuse is.

I know where the fuses are located, it is what one is number 18. There is nothing in the discription on the back of the fuse pannel that says anything regarding fuel.

On the second pic. check the fuse on the top left... that the ECU fuse which turns on the fuel pump.
I would check for voltage on the injector wiring, should be battery voltage and then i would check resistance on the injectors i beleive its 14 ohms each.

if you arent getting injector fire make sure to check both your grounds and if nothing else check the grounding in the injector harness yourself... there could be a short causing you to have to hardwire and create your own harness to the ecu...

as mentioned check your grounds.
you say the fuel pump is not priming anymore. i don't know how theft is in your area but, the ecu wasn't stolen right? haha had a friend with no start problem, come to find out someone stole his ecu.
anyways check if you have the ground butt connector on the right side of your car at the bulk connectors. Also check the ground on your thermostat as that is your fuel pump ground. i know 96+ civics had a fuse under dash directly related to fuel pump but, your teggy does not. The 15amp fuse is not blown. so... i would back probe the injectors with a DMM /ecu-safe test light/noid light to check if they are receiving power/firing.

ECU is not stolen. But thanks for all the replies.
How would I do this? Is the ground butt connector the one under the hood on the transmission? Could be injector problem even though my pump is not priming?

Re: Car wont start, fuel issue
could be, you mentioned before it did prime correct? well for eg's and some dcs the ground butt is under the hood on the driver side strut tower but, you should be looking to fixing your fuel pump first. pull out the bottom back seat and check for voltage with dmm then click key to on position.

Re: Car wont start, fuel issue
Just checked the fuses, replaced one. Now I am getting fuel pressure (fuel is coming out of the return hose and the filter). My car is still not starting so I am lead to believe it is the injectors. Any thoughts? I am still getting spark because I have starter fluid that will give it life for a few secconds.

That sounds almost exactly like mine. We jumped the pump at the main relay and it pumps strong but the injectors are for sure not firing. We pulled them out of the manifold and checked. We tried 2 different resistor boxes.
I am thinking its the wiring from the ignition switch to the relay but the car cranks and has excellent spark just not running.
I am also gonna pull apart the relay and check it but we used 2 different ones and I know the civic one we used works for sure.
Strangest thing I have seen in a while.

I got it. There was a plastic piece between where the engine wiring harness and the wiring harness that goes to the ecu is.Thanks for all the help.

Re: Car wont start, fuel issue
haha.
Mine was I had to rewire the shocktower on engine harness cuz it was and obd2 96 lude harness into an obd1 92 lude.
we eliminated the ckp sensor and wired for a 2 plug obd1 dizzy and went by what directions from here said.
But comparing the obd1 and obd2 pinouts for the shock towers they were way off.
Swapped them around and started right up.

Re: Car wont start, fuel issue
When I purchaced it from HMO they put these little plastic things on the end of the harness to protect it from corrosion. When I connected my fuel injectors they looked connected but were really not getting any power because that little plastic thing was in there. I took it out and it started right up.
