recently my car has been just bogging out when shifting, usually from 1st to 2nd, my timing is a little retarded, but just a tiny bit for compression, can this be it?...i mean it feels like crap when i shift, like i red line and then shifting the rpm goes down alot, maybe to 4500

 

If you are running high enough compression that you can't run full advance on your distributor then you may want to look into a tune. That may be the problem It could also be many many other things....
