Default Caliper problem

Alright, I had to replace 2 studs yesterday, and after some help and suggestion, I was able to get around some problems with some screws. But now I've run into a prlblem putting the brake caliper back on. I cannot get both the upper bolt and lower bolt to line up either together, or one at a time. I can bolt one or the other, but not both. Since the clamping force of the rotor will push the caliper up and inward, and since I need to have my car to drive it, I put the lower bolt on tightly and drove to work this morning. I also tested it out last night to be sure. The car brakes fine, no problems with that. However, I can hear the pads scraping against the rotor constantly while I drive. Although they're rubbing, its not that bad. I can still rotate the wheel with my hands, and the rotor wasn't smoking after a 15 mile drive; it was really hot though, I could feel the heat coming off of it, much more compared to other wheels. I noticed that the caliper looks like it might have moved back into the proper position (by comparing clearances with the other rear rotor) so I think I'm gonna try and pop that bolt back in tonight. But will that eliminate the scraping noise? I realize that driving like this may damage the rotor and pad a little, but thats not a concern b/c I'm getting news ones soon. If I can't get it to fit I'm gonna throw in the towel and take it to the shop. Any suggestions from anyone?

From driving like that and having a lot fo heat in one spot, the rotor is probably going to be warped now. You said you don't care about that, so it shouldn't be a problem when you replace the rotor.

The scraping should be eliminated once you put the second bolt in. The caliper is probably hitting the rotor since its not bolted up properly. You might hear scraping once you put the second bolt on b/c the rotor is warped...

HTH.
