braking problems
ok when i break the brake and steering wheel shakes.
i just changed my front disk and pads.
i was pushing on the caliper and it moves not alot but enough to make that problem.
bolts are all tightened.
i've broke 2 bolts in trying to fix problem.
i'm looking at the caliper pin that hold the caliper bolt s and the top one it's pretty snug and the bottom one has some movement.
the pin is tight when it's kept pushed in but when i bolt the caliper in it comes out to meet the caliper and it start to wiggle when i push????? :
what can i do to fix this

Re: braking problems (95DxSi-R2)
im not understanding what you're trying to say but it sounds like the rubber inside the bolts are gone? Did you lube the bolts before reinstalling to make sure it slides good? Im not sure if brake hardware kits come with these new so you might have to get new calipers.
BUT when applying the brakes and you get steering wheel movement and ur pedal pulsates, 9 times outta 10 it's gonna be ur rotors. Did you push the caliper piston back all the way before installing the new pads? Make SURE ur caliper goes back all the way because you could have a seized caliper too which would result to uneven pad wear
Good luck hope this helps some...

Re: braking problems (civicboisi)
yeah it's the slider pin on the caliper that seems loose.
I've been compairing them with our civic si and the other side of my car and the calipers loose. But not drasticly. I mean the bolts are tight but still move ment?
i just might take it in to the shop monday.

Re: braking problems (92 CIVIC HATCH VX)
well with the 2 caliper bolts tighten down and the caliper piston pressed back all the way, even with new pads, you should be able to slide the caliper back and forth SMOOTHLY. There shouldn't be any loopyness to one side(bottom or top bolt) That might be where your problem is...

Did you inspect/check other susp. components for abnormal wear, bad conditions? ball joints, tie rods ect. Did you completely clean the hub/mounting surface for the rotors. Swap some good known rotors if possible. Just because the parts are new doesn't exclude them for being faulty.
