Bumper fitment help.
I just picked up a '93 GSR front bumper cover and support the other day for my '91 integra. When I searched for the info about swapping the bumpers I read something about cutting the styrofoam to make it fit. But I think that was for using the '91 bumper support. I have the '93 bumper support with the bumper so I need to know if I still need to trim the styrofoam on the 93 support to make it fit.

Re: Bumper fitment help.
Actually I believe if I use the 93 bumper support then I need the 93 bumper mounts right? So then I should use the 91 support after triming it...?
Here is the mounts I am talking about.

Clarification: in the Old Days, the reinforcing bar would have been the "bumper", and it would have been chromed or painted.

Re: Bumper fitment help.
It's actually called the beam, or "front bumper beam".
The supports are left and right front bumper "stays".
The styrofoam is the "front bumper absorber".
There is only one front bumper support, "upper support".
I would guess if you use the 93 front bumper "face" you could use the 93 "stays", the 93 "beam" and the 93 "absorber", I would think that would be "plug and play". 94

From this I would agree with the premise that the '93 bumper will fit the '91 with the use of the '93 "stays".

Re: Bumper fitment help.
Thanks guys. I should have thought about that while I was getting the bumper because the dude probably would have given them to me, his car was completely stripped down. I thought about it right when I got home, I would have to back to Nj to meet the guy again, so I would rather just swap the actual bumpers (beams) to make it work with the 91 stays.

The '91's stays are thinner than the '93's, so I'd think you're filling space, not vacating it. Were it me, I would pull the '91's bumper and start taking measurements.
The beam bolts directly to the stays, so the styrofoam is not really important here. Since the '93's stay is thicker than the '91's, maybe all you need is to fabricate some sort of spacer out of wood or aluminum, and get longer bolts. This would push the beam (and the skin) out to where they would be if you had the '93's stays available to you.
