Belt...?
Ok, so I was heading home today, coming off the highway when I started accelerating and all the sudden I head a rather loud clunk. At first, weary of what it was I stopped, so on so forth, but everything was fine. Now, after this, unsure if maybe I just hit some sort of object in the road I continued. Made it home with everything working right. No overheat, so on, so forth, no lights as well. I get home, and look over again to see that I had somehow broken a belt. I'm pretty sure it's the one from alternator to all the other stuff, since my car didn't overheat or anything like that, so I wouldn't assume it be the waterpump, so on so forth...? So can anyone tell me what the hell I broke, and what it would take to fix it?

Re: Belt...? (Black '97 GSR)
there are 3 belts on the outside of the motor. 1 for powersteering which if broke u would know since it would be very hard to turn the wheel. Another is the A/C belt which uses a tensioner to keep the belt taught, on my exgirlfriends gsr the tensioner bolt broke off while she was on the highway. The last is the alternator belt which i doubt u would have gotten home without it since u would have been running on just the battery. The water pump runs off the timing belt so if it broke the car wouldnt run
