Default Power Steering Problems

I recently had my power steering belt off for some maintenance, and after re-installing my belt my power steering is malfunctioning.

When I start the car up I hear no squeak or annoying noises from the belt, however, when I attempt to turn the steering wheel left to right I hear the belt squeak badly and my steering wheel does not turn.

I'm guessing I have the belt on too loose?

My reservoir has power steering fluid in it and nothing is leaking.

Thanks,

Check the slack and tighten as needed

So the belt is loose and that is the culprit causing the power steering not working?
