Default Starting problem 92 integra

Every once in a while my car didn't start. I turn the key and everything powers up, but no start and only one initial click. It doesn't click more then one time. Any ideas?

Intermittent problems can be hard to diagnose., kind of have to be "failing" when testing, but do the tests above and see what you get.

Question, the "click" you hear, is it from under the dash, [starter relay] or from the engine bay, [starter motor solenoid]?

Also is it an auto or standard? 94

Then it is most likely the starter solenoid.

Have you tried the bypass jump yet?

If it will not crank with a bypass jump, check your main power and ground connections...

Both the pos.(+) and neg.(-) batt. posts and cable clamps, batt. neg.(-) to chassis ground and chassis to engine ground, batt. pos.(+) to starter motor.

Do not just eyeball the connections, disconnect and clean both contact surfaces, [EG; batt. post and inside of cable clamp] and reconnect making sure the connections are tight.

A fairly common problem with Honda starters, [not so much the starter as the person installing the starter] is if the nut holding the batt. cable is cranked on too tightly it can turn the stud the nut is on, that will misaligned the contacts inside the solenoid resulting in intermittent starting, [engine cranking/starter motor working] that gets progressively worse, [more intermittent].

If you can get the engine to crank by repeatedly, turning ign. key from run, [on position] to start position until it cranks then the above is most likely your problem.

You can sometimes "fix" this problem, by carefully turning the stud back a little and making sure it does not move when you reattach the power cable, [must be removed to "adjust" the stud. 94
