B18b1 timing
So I have a 1993 del sol with a b18b1 swap. Just finished the swap a day ago but when I started it started smoking really bad. When I tried to diagnose and figure out what it could be I first thought the timing could be off.( I would’ve thought head gasket but I just put a new one in) so when I tried to time it with a timing gun it was telling me the dizzy needs to be more advanced the problem is, is that the dizzy is already fully advanced. I’m not sure what this could be. I was going to see if maybe the timing belt jumped a tooth when I started it but not sure. Please help
The smoke color would indicate that you are burning coolant/water... so you still have either a head gasket or cracked head issue, or you are routing coolant into the intake track that shouldn't be there.
Re did the timing which was off by one tooth. It stopped smoking for the most part but was running like dog until around 5 rpm. I had ended up compression testing it. Cylinders 1,2,4 140 psi. Cylinder 3 however 30psi. I added some tranny fluid into the cylinder and ran the compression tester again 40 psi. Going to change out the piston rings and then should be good.
