Default AXLE REMOVAL PROBLEM

Alright, so today i was getting ready to take my axle out. i didnt feel like taking my ball-joints apart and so i took it all apart so the whole thing swung up. and the axle that is on the drivers side, the female end of the axle wont come apart from the male end of the male end of the intermedete shaft. i tried to hit it and stuff and it will not diconnect. i dont have much room so anything that would help thanks

why not just remove the intermediate shaft along with the axle, then disconnect them while they're off the car?

i had this same problem on my h22civic, and i searched HT and found this ******* cool trick. you use various sized deep sockets as a "wedge" between the inner joint and the inner shaft and beat the hell out of it with a hammer. when i first tried this, it didn't work. so i had to remove the inner shaft (entire assembly), and proceed with the same process except with the axle and shaft on the ground. once off the car, the process takes about 5 seconds.

cliff notes: un-bolt the inner shaft. put it on the ground. wedge a 21mm deep socket between the inner joint and inner shaft. and beat the **** out it with the hammer. if need be, use a larger socket

you should just use an adjustable wrench and open it to the point where the wrench fits snuggly in between the intermediate shaft and axle... withe the handle part of the wrench--> hit it with a hamer and it'll pop right off.

this way of doing it doesn't require you to take off the intermediate shaft and takes about 2 min.
