Default axle problems

on the inside cv joint (intermediate shaft connection), the joint will not move enough to allow the shaft of the axle to go into the fork that connects to the lower arm. the whole joint barely moves side to side or up and down, but the bearings can easily be pulled in and out of the housing. we repacked the joint and put on a new boot and it still does the same thing. do the bearings have a proper location? or do they just go in any of the housing slots?? also, on one of the bearing plates there is a notch, while the other 2 do not.....does this have anything to do with it preventing movement of the joint if these bearings are not in their proper location.

Default Re: axle problems (chipper)

Is this with the intermediate shaft and axle removed from the transmission, and each other?
