Anyone replace seat belts at dealership lately for free?
Has anyone been successful lately with getting the dealership to replace old seat belts that won't retract? Is Acura still obligated to replace them for free?

I don't know about the retracting issue but I took my 96 civic sedan to the dealer for a frayed drivers belt and they replaced it no charge. They replaced the throttle cable too . I would just ask the service manager in person if it was covered under warranty still with the car there so they can look at it.

Its pretty much "hit or miss". You got some dealers who will give you a hard time and maybe if your lucky they will honor it. I myself got issues with them twice at two different dealerships in San Diego. I dont' have time to go to the proper channels to get this done for Free. I'm too busy with life.

Would a seat belt for a dc/db even be available @ a dealership if a replacement were needed?

Yep usually this kind of thing that is warrantied for longer periods is kept in production for this very reason. Normal stuff like random interior plastics for example will follow the usual life cycles and could be discontinued after 10-15 years.

My seat belts stopped retracting a while back. I took the interior panels off and cleaned the seatbelts with a steam cleaner. They worked much better afterwards. Taking them off at letting them soak in a bowl of hot soapy water would probably work too.

as far as i was told you will have a lifetime warranty on the parts. you might have to pay a "diagnostic fee" to some dealers though.
