aLeaking in the trunk!!
I have a pool of water in my trunk where the spare tire is. Should I bring it to the dealer or a regular mechanic? Also on the very cold mornings, there is a lot of condensation inside on the windows, I have to scrape off the ice inside, is that the same problem?
i had a similar problem, but not as bad. whenever it rained, there was a small pool of water in my spare tire well. i had no clue where it was coming from b/c my trunk seal looked good. at the time, my car was guted and one time while it was raining i looked in the back. i saw water driping down where the tail light are. you have to take of the rear most plastic panel, and look at the inner most parts of the tail light, in middle of the rear trunk wall, (from inside the car) and you'll see a long plastic piece that sticks through the sheet metal, the water was leaking in from there. so i just used some silicone sealant around the base of the plastic piece, and its been fine since.
Yup, it is the tail light seal. I had the same problem and was sure it wasn't the taillights. But after I spent many hours gutting the entire car including the carpets, it turned out to be the seal after all.
Either replace it or "realign" it and make it tight when you put it back on.

Its the gaskets on the rear tail lights. They get soaked and eventually let water run off into the interior of the car. Also check the power Antenna mounts. I worked on a Teg recently and saw that the drain pipe was not correctly connected in the attenna unit. It basically corroded the unit and let of water in.
I read somewhere that people used caulk by the light seam to block off the runoff water from the sides of the trunk lid, but i never saw photos posted. Just food for thought.
Good Luck to you.

Hi, I had the same problem with my 94 Integra. I went to the dealership and the damn taill light gaskets were $35 a piece. Do this. Get a tube of clear silicone and take out the lights. Pull the gaskets off the lights and silicone the gaskets to the lights and then run a bead of silicone where the lights sit up against the actual metal. Problem solved for a few bucks. I've had it for over a year and it's perfect. No leaks. And it has to be leak proof because I have mad amounts of stereo equipment in the trunk.
