Dunno if this is a new one, but you can try relocating your ecu to somewhere hidden and take it with you when you park the car, that might slow them down even if they have an ecu w/ them.

Hmm.. I dunno all about the ECU disconnecting stuff. I'd say mount it under the dash somewhere where they'd never find it.

as cool as it sounds.. how often do you wanna take your ECu with you every time you park the car lol... thats gonna get really tedious and tiresome after a while, which defeats the purpose.

yea seriously. it just sounds like a big hassle. i could imagine a sercurity guard checking your bag and finding a silver box that looks like it could be a homemade bomb

seems like a dumb idea to me. If someone really wants your car, they're going to steal it. I've heard of a couple cars that were stolen that didn't even have ECUs in them at the time. Your car can always be towed.
You might as well just stick with a fuel cut of switch. If you want to get fancy you can make an ECU kill switch as well, and use both. That'll slow em down.

I don't think a thief with a tow truck is gonna give a crap about fücking up the front bumper of a lowered car when it pulls it up on a flatbad. But what thief in his right mind would waste his time stealing a DA...so I'm sure you're safe.

Also, tow trucks aren't that loud - do you wake up every time a truck drives by your house??? I didn't think so.

Thats easy, cause they usually wouldn't hit your house. Large areas like a college's parking lot. Also if they do decide to steal your car at your place. They probably have the tow truck park a block away and roll your car out of your drive way on onto the flatbed

true words, apartment complex lots always have tow trucks towing vehicles who dont have parking permits and stuff, so they are easy targets too

Uh oh.. makes me glad my school's parking tower has a gate with card swipe entrance. There are way nicer cars in there than mine anyways.

instead of relocating the ECU, maybe you can install some switches between the ECU wiring.

just hook a bling-bling chain up to it and wear it around your neck like a rapper when you have it out of your car.

i used to pull out my ecu before I went to bed....gf thought i was dumb for doing it every night, until she went out to my car in the morning to find my hood, trunk, were popped....autolock/clutch petal bent, stereo system gone, etc. Then she reminded me every night after that! As for doing that in parking lots, it would be smaller and easier to just pull the ecu fuse...just dont lose it! hahaha

Just unplug it if you dont want to carry it around, that would probably be enough to detere a good amount of criminals.
