Default Accerlation problem...

Hi, guys, My 94 LS Auto has been acting up lately, the accerlation is not that smooth at all. When i am traveling about 50 mph, i push the gas down slightly, the rpm goes up about 300 rpm, car sounds a bit louder but not accerlating. When pushing down a bit further, rpm goes down to the origional value and the car accelerate a bit. Sorry about this really confusing posting, but can any one help???
I was thinking if it's the clutch or air in the cooling system.

Thanks

Clutch? You have an automatic, there is no clutch.

Unless you are talking about the internals of the automatic transmission, in which case there is a "clutch" type mechanism. But I doubt that's what you're talking about.

Check your transmission fluid. Air in the cooling system isn't going to cause that. Remember automatic transmissions are strange sometimes. They are controlled by many factors.

Fluid??? Hmmm, i better check the level again. I recently had problem with the radiator and got that replaced. i have a problem hooking up the hoses for cooling. I bought a external tranny fluid cooler. Will that be a factor?

fuel filters need regular maintenance to be changed just like any other filter if it hasnt been changed in a long time, its probably due.
im experiencing the same with my car but my car basically needs to be tuned from all the aftermarket ive put on.

Just because you use 93 doesn't mean the fuel filter will last forever, when I first brought my AE86 to the local Drift Night at E-town, I was going through on my first pass and the car was all hesitant and then eventually stalled out, I changed the fuel filter and it is fine now. If you are a person who drives their car to empty, then you suck in the sediments of the fuel which will clog your filter and injectors, that whole fuel system change on my AE86 was the biggest pain in the ***.

That was what i was trying to rule out. If that's what i needed to do, then i have to find someone to do it. It's pain in the aXX. I don't drive the car to empty at all, i fill my baby up usually at quarter tank.

I just bought some fuel system cleaners and put it in to run a full tank of gas. It's been 50 miles, and i still notice the play in the 3rd + 4th gear. I was wondering if it could be the ATF that i bought from autozone. I bought dextron type III?
