acceleration problems!!

Default acceleration problems!!

car accels fine...but when i get to about 6k in 3rd gear car quits accelerating and check engine light comes on...then when i turn the car off for about 30 min and turn it back on the check engine light is off...HELP!!!

We do not know what car or engine you have. Can I assume this is a B18C1? Try this and report the CELS:

yes i have a 98 gsr. i just got an ITR LSD trnny put in but i had the problem even b4 i got the tranny.

Vehicle speed sensor?

Is it at a certain RPM or a MPH that the CEL comes on?

do what dogginator says. (he seems to be one of the most knowledgeable ppl in the integra sec. or in h-t in general for that matter. thumbsup dogginator!

did you get a new throttle body?if so I had the same prob cause when I changed it out I didn't recalibrate the tps sensor and it would do that..

its usually around 3rd gear at 6-6.5k RPM

We can keep speculating or you can pull the CEL codes and correctly address the issue.

as soon as i turn the car off the check engine light doesnt come back on so i cant do as u recommended!...today i was in 5th gear at about 65 mph..i went to downshift to 4th to pass a car and it wouldnt let me accelerate again..one again the check engine light came on....

The computer will store the codes. You can retrieve them with the recommended procedure.

HMMM...weird!...i used the recommended procedure but the check CEL stays lit up constantly...no flashes or blinks...HELP!!

Perhaps an auto parts store can check for stored codes. They will usually do this for free.

i stopped by auto zone today and they hooked up to my car...and there were no codes stored...it sux not knowing what the prob is cuz u cant fix it!!! HELLLP

Check your oil level. Perhaps your car is dropping out of VTEC.

same thing happned to my car before. got it checked and it was vss but it was also other things. vehicle speed sensor
