Default ABS problem, code 42

Currently I have code 42 for the ABS in my car which means that there is something wrong with the left front wheel sensor. It only comes on after i start rolling like 15 feet after i initially start the car. I checked the gapping between the ring and the ABS sensor and it is outside of spec, but so is the right side sensor and it isn't tripping a code. How can i diagnose to see if the sensor is just not getting any signal? What points can I touch with an ohmmeter and what specs should it be within? BTW the car is a 96. Any help would be really appreciated, thanks!

Same thing happened to my integra i compared the pads and the abs light was being thrown because of Frozen Brake Caliper. Put new calipers on and no more abs light

You need a multimeter. You simply check the sensor resistance. I forget the value, but it is in the Helm manual.

Could this code also come on because of let's say bad brake pads, warped rotors, or bad wheel bearings? Or is there just something wrong with the sensor?
