ABS problem
I need help... I had a custom install done with my stereo. I had a sub and amp custom mounted in my spare tire well by tweeter. since then my abs light has been comming on when I have the stereo cranked up. the head unit even tuns off ocassionally. What the **** is up with my stereo. Help guys. I know you will come through. jay in PA
I know that the brakes still work, but entering the winter season, I want ABS. The ABS light goes off when i turn the stereo back down.
***Brand new head unit $600 alpine head unit, jbl 1000 watt amp, and Alpine type R sub.

Read the ABS error code, just like reading an engine ECU code. Jumper the connector but watch the ABS light flashing. Check out the sticky thread at the top here.
The ABS computer is near the right-rear shock tower, & there's a wire from the left-rear wheel sensor that goes along the forward edge of the trunk floor. Something got messed up during the sub & amp install??

Stuffed up in there somewhere is a green rubber holder with 2 blue plastic electrical plugs. One of them has 2 wires, the other has 3. You want the one with 2 wires. Bend a paperclip to jumper between the 2 wires in that connector. Then follow the instructions in the sticky thread at the top of this forum.
thanx for your help jimblake...tuns out tweeter fully tested and i have a dead cell in my battery. system is pulling too much power.
