99 gsr quick question.
Just bought a 99 gsr. Completely stock. Has 246xxx miles. Is that to many miles to start puttin bold up parts onto. Cold air intake intake manifold headers and full exaust hondata s300. Maybe a turbo not to sure yet. Is it worth it or will it just start falling apart?

Yes, boosting it will def blow it up w/that many miles. Imo id yank it and rebuild or get low mile eng then bolt onto that. Edit- c/r on us gsr is 10.0:1

Re: 99 gsr quick question.
Ok what if I wait on the boost and just put the other bolt ons. Ill be one for a little while. I mean I understand te motor has a lot of miles and is gunna break down. But if like to get the most out of it. As wich is cheaper rebuild or low miles motor?

Re: 99 gsr quick question.
Now the question comes to the actual plans for the build. If you rebuild, a lot of machine shop work/down time is needed. If you want boost, just buy a low mile and save yourself a lot of time. Then sell or keep orig motor for spare parts.

There's no harm in boltons on an old engine, you just might not see as much of a performance boost if the engine is losing compression or the head is tired. That said, you don't really lose anything if you have to rebuild or swap engines down the line. The boltons will still work.
