Hello i am stumped on this looked everewhere changed everething ok so my problem my car wont start sometimes changed starter twice,main relay,starter relay,ignition switch,starter power and ground wires dont know what else it could be it will start fine sometimes and then it wont if i keep clickin the key over it will start after multiple tries starter clicks all the time i try any help thanks

 

So I think its time you do some proper troubleshooting for once. Check for continuity from the starter relay to the starter, from the starter relay to the ignition switch.

Are you having problems cranking the car or keeping it running?

 

No problem cranking it clicks all the time i try sometimes it just turns on no problem its just most of the time i have to keep playing with it to turn on once its on it stays on no problem

 

You might wanna diagnose your ignition switch, I replace one on my sisters db7 because she had the same problem. That was after diagnosing that the switch wasn't making contact no matter how many times I cleaned it and after doing some genius wiring ( I will not explain ) to confirm that it was bad. Electrical issues aren't straight answers and you're going to need a multimeter to check continuity.

 

Ok i changed the ignition switch wires not tge actual ignition so i guess il have to give that a try

Are you sure its clicking or maybe you're hearing the relays click? Did you have someone crank the car while you stood over the starter?

 

There's no way to change the wires unless you cut them and resolder them. It runs directly to the switch, so that was kinda pointless.

 

Yeah its the starter thats clicking everetime and relay also and yeah i didnt cut wires i replaced the ignition starter switch

 

Alright......remove the airbox and the arm. get a hammer and lightly tap the starter. Thank try to crank it again.
