92 Integra RS doesn't always start
My 92 Integra RS started having problems this spring with starting. It has got more intense now. It usually starts in the morning. Take a trip to the grocery store and then it won't start. It used to start after you left it for awhile but this last time it sat for hours and still didn't start. It seemed that when you hit the gas tank it would go so we replaced the fuel pump. Obviously that wasn't the answer. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much.
does your starter crank fine? check your ignitor and coil they are notorious for going out with little or no warning. next time it doesn't start see if you're getting spark.

Yeah, especially considering that he has a cable clutch.

this happened to me too. it ended up being the pickups in the distributor i believe. i was driving home and my car just suddenly shut off. goto http://www.groupbuycenter.com and look up RPMPartz. they sell distros for cheap, and they are complete... not refurb.
yeah mine does that sometimes....after letting the car sit in heat for a while...it will not start! any ideas on why its doing this?
Isn't it funny how many people are saying replace the starter? He thought before it was the fuel pump. Hearing that information I'm assuming he is smart enough to realize that when the car doesn't turn over a starter or battery is a good place to start looking. With that I'm assuming the car is turning over. Check to see if you are getting spark. If not check the coil first.

Start your car (if u can) and take off the positive connection on your battery, if the car dies it's the distributor

Thats not the distributor, its the alternator you are referring to, which has NOTHING to do with this. What you just said is 1 way to see if the alternator is charging properly.
Crap whats with all the newbie replies to this post? Clutch pedal fluid? WTF!
Anyways, if your car is cranking over, obviously its not the starter (even with that said, a lotta people will keep telling you to change your starter since they have no idea how the hell it works. If it cranks, then its not the starter). I agree with the posts above about the distributor and/or the main relay, might be time to replace those anyways. The guys in the CRX/EF forum have the main relay problem a lot, and also distributor problems, i had those problems too when i had the CRX. Our 12+ year old dist. and main relays are gettin old n senile
To check the main relay, when you turn your key to the II position, do you hear the relay click? If not then that's ur problem, if it doesnt click, its not shooting gas into the cylinders for the initial start. WHen i had that problem, i was too lazy to fix it so it tap on the relay a few times with a screwdriver and it would start
Not really that expensive to replace though.
