Default LS/VTEC?

What is this LS/VTEC swap I keep hearing about. I know you guys must think this is a stupid question asked by a stupid person but that is why I'm asking this so that I can learn. Any explanations? Thanx.

the ls/vtec swap is when you use a ls non vtec block and put a vtec head on it. such as a civic si head or a type r hear. they do this because the displacement of the ls block is a little bigger 112 cubic inches compared to the gsr or type r's 110 cubic inches. the added displacement results in more torque. does that ansewer your question

So which engine would be better? An LS/VTEC or GSR VTEC? What are the Pros and Cons of Both?

if you really want to build a bad *** motor i would go with a ls block and a type r head. throw in a set of type r pistons and it will be really fast

if you can get a gsr i would just get it and spend the money you would have spent buildig ur ls/vtec on the gsr. You will save yourself alot of headaches bc unless you know what your doin ls/vtec can end up bein more trouble than its worth

LS/VTEC is a monster when built correctly, but what would be even better is CRVTEC ( B20/VTEC ). But all depends on your goals

the b20 has thinner cylinder walls than an ls motor it would be better to sleeve a ls block
