91 integra temp problem

Default 91 integra temp problem

my car takes forever and a day to warm up.when i get on the freeway the temp gauge drops QUICKLY and stays on cold until i come to a complete stop, then goes back up again.its driving me crazy because i dont like driving my car while its cold the whole time! HELP!!

sounds like you need a new thermostat, you can get one from teh dealer for about 30bucks or so dont buy an aftermarket one.

i have the same exact problem..i just bought a new thermostat the other day..i just haven't had time to put it in.

same problem here. so its the thermosat huh..

would this also contribute to my radiator fans not coming on??

no for the rad fans you need an Engine Cooling Sensor I bought my sensor for $60 from Acura and the sensor is located behind the block so you need to drain the block from coolant, take out the sensor and put the new one in. then fill it up with coolant and you should be good

He's talking about the Thermo Fan Sensor Part# 37760-p00-004 A dealer on Ebay has new OEM ones for $38.

If you are having the same problem as the OP, meaning your coolant temps are never warming up, then the fans will never come on (unless using A/C) because the temp doesn't reach the level that will trip the fan switch. In other words, the switch could be just fine and replacing it won't do anything if the coolant temps are too cold to trip it. Replace the thermostat and then see if the fan comes on when it reaches temp.
