87 integra ls

OK. last week i was coming off an off-ramp and my lights start dimming and my car dies. i called a guy who works with me (2 mins away) to give me a jump and he reverses the jumper cables and blows the main battery fuse. smart guy.

towed the integra to a honda/acura shop and he said the alternator brushes were worn, which is why the car died and the main battery fuse was blown because he reversed the jumper cables. had him fix the brushes and replace the main battery fuse

todays the first day i drove the integra and the pgm-fi light comes on. flashing pgm-fi on and off spontaneously. as its doing that, it feels like my car is "putting" or losing power, like its not getting enough fuel. it died once on the way home and the second time it died just as im pulling up to my driveway. i tried starting it and it turns over, everything works, it just wont start unless i give it 15-20 mins, then it dies again.

i checked the code and its throwing an 8 or 9.. im leaning more towards the 8 code. i cant tell because i cant get the thing to turn over. it seems like it almost does, then dies. any clues? tia

Go double check you code. Becuase it says (if your right) you have a fulty sensore,

The code 9 No 1 position is the dizzy. You'll have to get a new dizzy (distributor)

BTW: I onwed a 87 Integra ls (modified) then I bought a DA and sold it.

So I'm not just some guy talking out of no where. I owned the same car too.

i checked all the wiring for the dizzy and it looks fine.. i'm wondering if i have to get a whole new distributor?

 

Well, If its TDC Position,

It means (Kinda commen sence) Its not positioning right for TDC (Top Dea Center)

Which is when the #1 Cylinder is at the top of the block on its compression stroke

(Sry, I dont know how much you know, So I'm just saying)
