1989 Integra - bolt to tighten motor
There is a motor to the right of the engine (I think it's the A/C) that has a really lose belt. I see that there was a bolt there at some point to tighten the belt. That bolt is missing and I would like to know what size it is. If you have any idea what I am talking about, please let me know. If not, but think you could tell me, please reply here.
Thank you,
Andrew

Re: 1989 Integra - bolt to tighten motor (drwatson)
motor? i think you mean the compressor or the PSP, i've got the same car as you so i'll be happy to help..
if the "motor" is encaged in a brownish black metal bracket it is the power steering pump, which i'm 99% sure is what you are talking about. The AC is directly mounted to the front of the engine in the lower right hand side. The bolt, if it's about a 10mm (measure the spot where the head of the bolt used to sit) bolt that would be coming up through the brown/black bracket, that is the tensioner, it helps tighten the belt. The belt can also be tightened by prying the PSP and locking the mounting bolts. Any other bolts attached the bracket from the "motor" are just mounting bolts (14mm i believe). If you really need the bolt i believe mine is still intact and i can just mail it out to you. If you need further assistance just reply, i'll be on the look out.

Re: 1989 Integra - bolt to tighten motor (drwatson)
There are 3 belts other than the timing belt and they are alternator belt, compressor, belt and power steering pump belt. They all have adjusters on them. The compressor uses a idler pulley with an adjustment bolt. The adjustment bolts are typically require a 12 mm wrench. I just tightened my alternator last night, but the adjustment bolt was missing so a used a pry bar and just realeased the alternator at the slide braketet to adjust it. Problem solved, no squeaky belt when accelerating or putting on the AC. I own an 1989 Integra LS
