New 11th Gen Civic Actually Looks Great with Different Wheels

Honda’s 11th gen Civic might not be flashy when stock, but as we found out, wheels make all the difference.

We all know that change is often resisted. So when Honda’s new 11th gen Civic emerged, some folks didn’t like the restrained styling. Granted, folks also didn’t like the wild styling of the previous generation either. But one thing the 2022 model lacks is a bit of sporty flair. We often asked ourselves what these cars would look like with some simple changes. We found the answer to that question via MotorTrend, who had a few renders of what the new Civic will look like with suspension tuning and popular wheels.

“TE37 all the things!” MotorTrend seems to agree with something we’ve established long ago here at Honda-Tech. The Volk TE37 does look great on everything, 11th gen Civic included. In their rendering, MT chose a red Civic, and a dark graphite TE37 wheel combo. It’s an interesting choice to pick red, but the graphite Volks look great on everything. We would also like to see something like a black on bronze color combo, to really make the wheel color pop, rather than the car’s hue be the main focus.

On their other rendering, they got closer to something we’d likely see in the future. Honda’s Agean Blue Metallic color is an extremely vivid form of blue and we predict it’ll be a popular choice among buyers. Especially those who don’t want the typical white, silver, and grey. And this blue is matched with the Regamaster Evo 5-spoke rim. In this instance, the white rims are a direct contrast to the blue paint, and do wonders for the looks. You’ll also notice this car has blacked out trim, which suits the tuner look far better than the brightwork on the red car.

We don’t know exactly what visual cues will be on the coming Si and Type R, but we can imagine additional vents and flares will be included in the ingredients. Whether Honda will step up its game with stock wheels is yet to be seen.
