Virtual time warp will bring a tear to your eye, but we’d love nothing more than to rack up miles on this fresh NSX.

There’s no denying that first-gen Acura NSX prices are blasting through various price ceilings on almost a daily basis. We’re getting to the point where your average fan boy simply can’t afford one without forgoing any kind of educational plans or homeowner dreams. Thus, we fully expect this 2,838 original mile 1991 NSX, currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer, to sell for a pretty darn ridiculous price when it’s all said and done.

But what else would you expect from a killer classic in such remarkably unused condition? We’re betting that the seller, an Acura dealer who purchased it back in 2013, is going to make a pretty penny on his investment, too. There just isn’t much to dislike about his cherry, ahem, Formula Red beauty. There’s a full service history behind it, and all the requisite maintenance has also been performed.

Not like the new owner is going to go out and rack up miles on it. But if they wanted to, the typical fluid changes have already taken place. Along with the replacement of the timing belt, drive belts, water pump, and spark plugs. But the tires are believed to be original, so you might want to address that before you head out on the highway.

For whatever reason, the stereo was replaced with a rebuilt original-style unit. And the factory Bose amps aren’t working. The rear hatch struts need to be replaced, but there’s little else to nitpick here. The rest of this NSX literally feels like a time warp. The interior is simply immaculate, as is the exterior condition and engine bay.

The time capsule NSX also comes with all the goodies you’d expect, from the window sticker to the manuals and a book. Not to mention an armrest phone, which is worth the price of admission all by itself. To his credit, the seller did manage to add 150 miles to the odometer over roughly six years. But we’d be tempted to do much, much more than that.

Of course, there’s a nearly zero percent change the new owner will drive it any significant distance. And we suppose that’s the smart thing to do, financially speaking. But how often do you get the chance to own what is essentially a brand new first-gen NSX?
