Those seeking a fun, funky, and unique ride can’t go wrong with a 15k-mile TransTop-equipped Del Sol SiR.

Now that we’re officially 25 years plus out from the ’90s, we’re starting to see more and more cool JDM imports here in the U.S. And, well, we say it’s about time. Now, Honda fans can enjoy some of the cooler and quirkier vehicles once reserved only for our Japanese brethren. That includes the funky little Del Sol SiR, which was a groundbreaking car for a number of reasons. And now, what might be the lowest-mile Del Sol SiR currently in the states is up for sale here in the Honda Tech Marketplace.

When it debuted in ’92, the SiR was one of the first mass-production vehicles with an output of over 100 hp per liter. It was also the first with an electronic targa top. With a 0-62 mph time of 7-seconds and quarter-mile of 14.7-seconds, it was rather quick for its day. And if you’re looking to add one of these historically significant vehicles to your stable, you certainly won’t find many nicer than this one. For starters, it shows just 15k miles on the clock. And it received a stellar 4.5-out-of-5 rating from Gary Duncan, the importer.

This particular Del Sol SiR is also almost completely stock. The only modifications are a period-correct but non-original head unit and a set of Honda Jazz Sport wheels. The TransTop works perfectly, and it even sports a rare 4-speed automatic transmission. Paired up to the B16 engine, it’s a combination you rarely see these days. And of course, being JDM, the driver sits on the right-hand side. The Del Sol SiR is street legal, however, and has received all the typical maintenance you would want to perform on a car of this vintage.

That’s not to say that there aren’t faults with the car. The seller does note that there are a few hard-to-notice scratches and dings. The transmission is slipping a little, and the left front axle leaks a little fluid. And of course, the automatic is a detractor for most enthusiasts. But personally, we think this is a fair deal given the $9,500 bottom line price. So if you’re in the market for a fun, funky, and unique new ride, head over here and check it out!
