Boosted K20 Civic Rips Insane Highway Pulls

By -

This boosted K20-swapped EK9 Civic is just plain nasty! And it houses a turbo soundtrack straight from the tuning gods.

What’s better than a boosted K20? Not a lot. But it’s even sweeter crammed inside an EK9 Civic. With a beautifully low weight, a screaming engine, and a fat whirly-boy, you’ve got all the ingredients needed for a supercar killer.

Chris Jennings, host of the CJK20 YouTube channel, gives us a look inside one of the sickest Honda Civics roaming the streets across the pond.

One Heck of a Weekend Toy

“Definitely wouldn’t use it every day,” tells Jordan Walker, owner of the boosted K20 EK9 “But, as a weekend toy, it is perfect. It’s a handful, to say the least. Just pulls you all over the place.”

Walker picked up his EK9 in September of 2018. It was mostly stock, but already had the beating heart of a monster swapped in.

Boosted EK9 Owner, Jordan Walker

“Well, what got me into Hondas was a couple of my friends… they had a few EP3s. And, obviously, I wanted to keep up,” shares Walker “Because I was younger, I had to get an EJ9 with a B18C swap from the DC2. After that, I moved on to an EP3, which was Jackson Supercharged. And that wasn’t enough… then I moved on to this EK9”

Roasted hood, screamer pipe

Over several sleek shots of his EK9, Walker explains how his hood got roasted. On his second day after getting his ECU re-mapped, his screamer pipe dropped due to a loose clamp. One thing led to another and the carbon fiber of his hood caught fire. After finally noticing the barbeque-fest at a roundabout, Walker and his passenger put out the blaze with a fire extinguisher and a hoodie.

Mega Mods

There are plenty of K20 swaps out there, but what sets this one apart is all of the work that’s gone into it. Currently, Walker’s boosted K20 EK9 makes a nauseating 450 bhp and 282 lb-ft of torque. For a stripped-out, EK9 that’s already light as a feather, that’s just absurd.

EK9 Civic Interior

Walker shares that the ECU was mapped out by Jesse at J.Cal in South England. A list of parts too numerous to mention have also been added. (Each of which can be found in the video’s description.) But the most prominent items are a 5858 Precision turbo running 11 psi of boost, a Tial 44mm wastegate, 3″ downpipe, and a screamer pipe. Combined, they give this Civic a monstrous howl.

Towards the end of the video, Walker and Jennings take the EK9 out for a spin. “What’s your favorite thing about the car?” asks Jennings. “The power,” replies Walker “It’s gotta be the power.”

A bit further into the drive the pair decide to jump onto the highway for a few pulls. “I love that turbo chatter. How loud you can hear that,” exclaims Jennings “Whoah. That sounds good!”

After a particularly aggressive pull, Jennings was impressed, to say the least. “F***, yeah,” cries Jennings “Mate, that’s just amazing.” It’s safe to assume he speaks pretty well for all of us there.

Walker & Jennings

It’s always nice to see a fully-built Civic. Throw in a boosted K20 and you’ve got something truly special.

If you’re looking to emulate this sick build, be don’t forget to check out the video’s description for parts. It’ll take a bit of time, to b sure. But, in the meantime, you can keep drooling over Walker’s screaming banshee of a Civic.
