are b16's good for highways?
i have a b16aII w/ stock tranny on my civic and going 4.5k rpm @ 80mph on 5th gear on a highway. i notice the b16 trannies are short and going at that rpm makes me think b16s are not meant for highways.
like the title says, are b16's good for highways? is it bad for the motor? just curious.

I thought the same thing, but I got used to it, actually pretty fun beacause cruising at about 60-65 I can downshift to 3rd and pull real hard on my opponent. Fun motor.

gas mileage, internal parts of the motor, anything.

honda wouldn't have made it that way if it wasn't safe for the motor. its a little higher than i like to rev when cruising, but its fine. your top speed is just hindered. i like the gsr tranny for the highway. you cruise a little lower in the powerband, but it still fun to drive having the b18c

Doesnt bother me any for just cruising the highway , but when racing my buddies in their gsr's i get smoked, mainly because of there gearing I think.

i like mine, excellent maintenance will last you a while
i could use a 6th gear though
4K-5K on the highway kinda sux
that's transmission though
B16a2
~31/32 (as high as 36mpg) on the highway
a little over 141whp stock
torque needs help
117000 on the odo
runs perfect
<--Happy B16 owner
