Leaky Y1 tranny....question on replacing linkage oil seal...
So i bought a tranny that had been sitting for about 5 years in someone garage and put it in...and it's leaking, seems like its coming from the oil seal around the shift linkage shaft ...i actually can see what looks like a small hole in the black seal but not sure how the hell to replace it....anyone have any ideas? i'm hoping the tranny doesnt need to come out of the car but it almost looks like it would have to....here's a pic, i beleive it's #17...
thanks in advance....

just drop the shift linkage and pry the seal out. lube the seal with some oil and use a brass tap it back in. brake clean it off and top off fluids and connect shift linkage.
