Changed manual tranny fluid, concerned I didn't put enough in
I filled the transmission with MTF while the car was level - poured in 2 full quarts (2.0 qts is the spec for this car). Then I had to jack it back up to remove the tube and put in the fill plug. When I removed the tube, a fair amount of fluid came out. Only afterwards did it occur to me that the tranny holds less fluid when front is jacked up, and that maybe too much leaked out when I removed the tube with front of the car jacked up. Should I be worried that I don't have enough fluid in there?
Is it worth trying to scoot under there without jacking it up and remove the fill plug and check the level? I'm unsure of how much tolerance there is for anything less than a full spec fill.
Edit: I checked it just for the peace of mind. If I dipped my finger in, I hit the fluid. But next time I'll fill it with the jack stand at the lowest level that will allow me to get under the car and access the bolts.
