What are some signs of a timing belt jumping a tooth or bad water pump?
I've had this feeling my timing belt has jumped a tooth since one of my local tuners said it felt a little loose and he had a hard time setting the timing. He said he couldn't get a good reading with the timing light.
The main reason im worried is when i drive my car it sounds like the car is running on two pistons even though the comprssion test is good and the car sputters while i drive.
Also what are symptons of a bad water pump ? I've searched and all it said was it might leak from the seals ?
TIA

bad water pump = your car overheating... you wouldnt cycle water through your coolant system and the coolant would just sit. Which that = bad and overheating..
As for your tuning... what the hell kind of "tuner" cant get the timing right and lets you go with a loose belt? If your motor sounds like **** and it feels really sluggish that is a pretty good indication. Go get someone who knows what the hell they are doing and get that fixed before you bounce a valve on your piston...

Reason i question the water pump, is because when i open the hood it feels hotter than normal although the temp gauge doesn't move to the hotside.
Yea i questioned that tuner too... He did a valve adjusatment for me and and he metioned the timing belt felt a little loose. Also another reason i question the timing belt jumping a tooth is beacause i've tried checking many things on the car wondering why it runs like ****. And my mechanic suggested the timing belt could have slipped. But this problem onle happens after 10 min if driving ?

your mechannic tuner must be a retard if he cant tell if the belt actually jumped. Especially if he did a valve adjust. I wouldent trust that retard to vallet my car, especially not working on it. With the VC off turn crank until the tdc mark aligns up. you dont even have to remove the wheel. Just crank over the PS bolt. the whole motor will turn over. then look at the cam gears, if the pointers are pointing at eachother there has been no jupped teeth. if they are not ligned up, put on a new tblet. easy!!!!! dont letretards work on your car.!!
